Car accidents happen for various reasons. In rare instances, there is no one at fault, but more often than not, an accident is caused by an irresponsible driver.
Negligent driver behaviors put countless people in danger, including cyclists, pedestrians, and other drivers as well. When the person in control of a potentially deadly vehicle is careless or inattentive for even a split second, the chances of them taking a life or leaving a victim seriously injured are extremely high.
Some common examples of the kinds of negligence that result in car accidents include:
- Driver distraction, such as texting and making phone calls
- Driving under the influence
- Reckless driving
- Inadequately maintained vehicles
- Poorly designed intersections and roadways
Not only are accident victims forced to cope with daily pain and suffering, but they also face rapidly accumulating medical bills while being unable to work.
