Compensation for Hawaii Car Accident Claims

Oahu, HI - One Transported From Accident Scene on Kalaniana’ole Hwy Near Sandy Beach Park

When trying to determine what forms of compensation you might be eligible for, a seasoned personal injury lawyer can help you correctly calculate your losses and damages and aggressively pursue the resources you need.

It is our job to help our injured clients obtain every form of compensation to which they are entitled, such as:

  • Hospital and Other Medical Bills: Recovery for your medical bills covers a wide array of injury-related expenditures. The cost of an emergency room visit, your co-pays for your doctor appointments, physiotherapy, cognitive therapy, medical equipment, consultation fees, and home care aide can all add to the gigantic stack of bills that injured victims usually incur. In addition to the damages previously listed, a lawyer will also know how to calculate your anticipated medical expenses and ensure that the cost is covered by your compensation.
  • Lost Earnings: It is not unusual for victims to not be able to return to their former line of work, or in some cases, any work at all, either permanently or temporarily. If your injuries are so severe you have no choice but to take a significant amount of time off work, your lost earnings need to be factored into your recovery.
  • Pain and Suffering: A skilled attorney will also be able to effectively seek damages for the pain, suffering, and emotional distress that crash victims usually endure. The amount of these damages varies for each case and the amount of compensation will rest primarily on the nature and scope of your injuries. To be qualified for this type of compensation, you will need to file either a third-party claim or a lawsuit.
  • Property Damage: If your vehicle or another piece of your property, such as a laptop you had in your trunk when you got rear-ended, was broken or damaged in the accident, then your damages should include the cost of replacing or repairing the damaged or broken item.
  • Loss of Companionship: Occasionally, a spouse is so horrendously injured in a car crash that it negatively impacts both their spouse and their marriage. The one spouse may be uninjured, but they are also left without the emotional support and companionship they relied on, looked forward to, and would have enjoyed were it not for the accident. This type of compensation is also only possible via a third-party claim or a lawsuit.
