MR. JAMES LEAVITT: Hi, I'm Jim Leavitt. Back in 1968 I was a Marine Corps JAG officer doing work for the Marine Corps in California. I was transferred over here to Hawaii, and I was stationed at Pearl Harbor Naval Station. I did court martial work for the marines until 1971 when I started with the public defenders office. At that point I worked in private practice from 1971 through the present time. John Yamane joined me in 1981. Woody Soldner joined me in 1985. I'm proud to say that I've got the highest rating from the largest independent lawyer rating service, and that's an A/B rating. I've been a president of the local Trial Lawyers Association here. I'm currently a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and I'm proud to say that I've been board certified by the Hawaii Supreme Court as a specialist in civil trial advocacy.
