James T. Leavitt
As the founder of our firm, James T. Leavitt is passionate about protecting
the rights of injured individuals across the Hawaiian Islands. For more
than 30 years, he has maintained an AV® Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®,
which demonstrates his exceptional professionalism and client dedication.
Jim recently was honored to be selected to serve as one of Hawaii's
Delegates to the to the United States District Court Judicial Conference.

Throughout the course of his career, he has had countless successful results,
inside and outside of the courtroom. Many of the cases he has handled
have altered Hawaiian laws. For example, the Hawaii Supreme Court expanded
the definition of "product" in product liability cases when hearing
Cione. As a Honolulu personal injury lawyer, he enjoys helping injured individuals
seek justice and recovering maximum compensation on their behalf.
He started his legal career as a U.S. Marine Corps Judge Advocate General
(JAG) assigned to the 14th Naval District in Pearl Harbor. Before he was
stationed in Hawaii, he handled court martials as JAG at Camp Pendleton.
Attorney James Leavitt came to love Hawaii so much that he accepted a
position with the Hawaii Public Defenders Office after he was discharges.
The Aloha State has been his home ever since. In his free time, he enjoys
surfing and learning about the latest scientific discoveries. He is also
a board member of the Hawaii Opera Theater and a member of the Friends
of the University of Hawaii Institute for Astronomy. He served as president
of the Hawaii Association of Justice, formerly known as the Consumer Lawyers
